Panama Hacienda Esmeralda

Yesterday I had the big fortune of trying a cup of coffee from the famous Hacienda Esmeralda in Panama. It is a 100% Geisha meaning that it was imported to Costa Rica in ~1953 from the Ethiopian town Gesha (info from the HasBean blog). It was roasted by Johan & Nyström 6 days ago and was prepared for me using an Aeropress in the J&N concept store in Stockholm. The price was rather high, 50:- (~ 5€) for one cup and 195:- (~19€) for 125 gram of roasted beans.

The taste was very silky and with a hint of raspberry at the end and I must say it was the most delicious cup of coffee I have ever had in my life. It would not do very well as an espresso (which is a completely different kind of coffee drink).

Here is more info about the coffee at Johan & Nyström.

"My" cup of Panama Hacienda Esmeralda.

The coffee bag from J&N. It looks much bigger on the picture than it is in real life ;)
