Battle Mountain 2006
Världens snabbaste liggister gör just nu upp om vem som kan köra 200 meter med flygande start snabbast.

Nytt europeiskt rekord av Team Eivie på 74,1 miles/h satt på tisdagen och sen kraschade ekipaget men både förare och fordon klarade sig helskinnade. Sam Wittingham bytte tillbaka till sin Varna Diablo (på måndagen hade Sam provat sin nya kameracykel) och leder med knappa 74,7 miles/h.

I talked very briefly with Al Krause. They had just come back to the hotel. Bill Gaines will email more complete info to Warren tonight. Conditions must have been good. Weather Underground indicates no wind and 60 deg. F., but temperatures at 5pm were 80 deg. and 10% humidity. Very similar conditions to the first 80 Mph runs of Sam Whittingham and Matt Weaver. Friday and Saturday look to be about 10 Deg. cooler. Based on my experience, this will go down as the fastest night for the event.

Matthew Scott riding Hindsight for Calpoly crashed- Rider is OK.
Damjan Zabovnik crashed hard in the traps. He was not completely coherent, so he was taken to the hospital. His vehicle had a big chunk out of it. Al belives he is done racing for the week.

Saturday night culminated in an awards dinner which was held in conjunction with the Basque Society dinner. I think just about everyone won some money. This was the highest prize total payout of any Battle Mountain event.
The GB techno prize of $250.00 was awared to Robert Barnet.
